Dear eco conscious clients,
Choosing the right fabric for our line was a delicat task, according to our reserach there is no fabric that has 0 impact on the environment.
To transform fibers into fabric it will take more or less water, energy and some treatement to make it soft and wearable.
At Hug of Nature environment and comfort are our 2 top priorities and we have based our choice to combine both elements.
All our fabrics are earth friendly, ultra soft and most of them are knit here in Los Angeles for quality control.
Here are our choices
ProModal was created through the combination of Lenzing Modal and TENCEL, which are two premium fibers coming from farms trees in Austria. The Modal has a soft quality, whereas the TENCEL is highly functional. The TENCEL is good for absorbing moisture, regulating temperature, reducing bacteria growth, and prevention of skin discomfort. The combination is magical. ProModal Lenzing is based on natures principle of photosynthesis, and has been carefully manufactured in order to maintain integrity in remaining eco-friendly.
Modal and Micro Modal
MicroModal is a natural fiber made by Lenzing from European beechwood farm tree It is soft, silky, shiny, and these qualities allow garments to drape, and caress ones body as if they were wearing nothing at all. The process used to transform the wood in fiber is ethical and leaves a very small footprint on the environment. which is a key factor for our philosophy, there is no pestcicides and it takes much less water to make than cotton. These qualities make it an optimal choice for producing flowing tops, pajamas, intimates and lounge wear.
Bamboo is not only organic, but it is also the world’s most sustainable resource! Bamboo grows quickly, produces more oxygen than trees, and consumes high amounts of nitrogen, which allow for high water retention that prevents runoff. Bamboo is good for absorbency and has been known to be even softer than cotton! Thus, bamboo is good for the body and for the world.
Organic cotton is grown from non-genetically modified plants. This benefits the individual who wears organic cotton because chemicals that can cause irritation of skin have been eliminated. Even more, it benefits the world! Non-organic cotton that is grown using genetic modification accounts for at least 10% of the worlds pesticides! Choose organic. Your body and your planet will thank you.
All our dyes are certified low impact, it contains no heavy metal and the procedure follows the strict rules of California therefore minimizing the footprint on the environment.
